This shifter shaft prevents shift linkage drag and lockup and consequently operates smoother and with less resistance. It is a direct replacement for 1982-1999 Touring models and an upgrade for 200-2016 Touring models and 2009-2016 Trike modelsthat do not have a grease fitting on the shaft. Easy to install in approx. half an hour.
