All late 4th gears now have O-rings for better oil sealing. These replacement 4th gears are made with wider drive slots and steeper lead-in ramps for more positive 3-4 shifting and less wear and tear for long life. The O-ring groove addition is a design up-date for all chain drive 1977-1986 4th gears.
